Factors That Influence Domestic Tourism Demand: Evidence from Armenia.

ABSTRACT. Armenia has great opportunities and resources for tourism development. In 2021, the number of domestic tourists in was 1595826, an increase 52.6% compared to 2020. 2022, higher than previous years - 1929940. The article evaluates factors which influence demand with use ordinary weighted least squares regression models. main variables discussed models are: real GDP growth rate, consumer price index, average cost tour packages from other countries that can be considered as alternative tourism, dummy variables. time series are based on quarterly data 2005-2021. According analysis results, 1% will lead a 0.22% tourists, prices decrease by about 0.12%, foreign package 0.14%. also presents some suggestions development Armenia. results may useful similar studies, well state private sectors conducting forecasts, planning, etc.
